Porsche 911 996 Turbo Restoration Project
Having owned 4 other 911 996 models I have learnt a lot on my journey as a Porsche owner and fanatic.
When I sold my previous 911 996 4S which was again a perfect car, my journey to find a clean 911 996 Turbo with a manual gearbox for sale was a long journey in itself. Driving around the country to dealerships and private advertised cars was proving to turn up cold in turns of a car I would buy.
After 3 years I found this car and it was truly a lovely example, un-messed-with and undamaged due to any accidents.
The Porsche owners club even made a comment in the Porsche Post published October 2017.
As it is now time to purchase my next car, this lovely car is up for sale. A potential buyer paid for an inspection on the car and this showed that the car is spot on. It has never been damaged or painted. However, the report showed that the front wing arch on both sides had a small amount of rust which is apparently very common on 911 996s that have never had a bump. The guy wanted to leave a deposit but I refused as I wanted to get this repaired and until the work is completed I feel this would be wrong.
A client has the Ferrari and Maserati contract for body repairs and restoration work. I dropped off the car to them to take a look and they are restoring the car to perfection for me.

A Few Weeks Later
To allow the repair work to harden and settle before being flatted before primer the car is left for a few days.
Then flatted and primed, baked and then again left for a few days before being flatted again for perfection.
A few days later the car is ready to paint and bake.
The car is ready and the so are the bumpers and they are refitted to the car 48 hours later.
Completed - The Cleanest Porsche 911 996 Turbo In The UK
Perfection takes time and this complete restoration of what might have seemed madness to others took 3 weeks in total to complete.
The end result is total perfection and in my view well worth it. The car paint all over has been mopped and the car put back in storage until we have a good couple of clear sunny days and then the wheels and exhaust tips will be polished to perfection again to complete the concours look.
From the removal of the front and rear bumpers for the first time, it was great to see for sure that the car is genuine and never repaired. When it goes into Porsche for a service they always make a comment on the solidness and condition.
This Porsche 911 996 Turbo is still on NL02 OLN the original number plate from registration and also has the JCT 600 actual plates on it.
The clips, screws etc that rust with age have all been replaced also during this repair with no expense spared.
